ready, set, decorate!

we have a guest post today on the urban outfitters blog: DIY tree stand! while hiding in the woods at our favorite spot, we decided to do a little decorating to get into the holiday spirit. so, we brought our fake christmas, drill, paddle bit and scrap paper. 

all we had to do was find an old stump (although stephen wants to pretend he chopped the tree down himself). after drilling the hole with a 1" paddle bit and inserting the faux tree into the stump we fluffed the branches and it was time to decorate. 

we used scrap paper from a printing project to make LOTS of paper chain - we made over 100 feet to decorate our tree and have a little bit left over for around the house.

we're packing up some plaid FORAGE bow ties for stag. if you live in austin, you'll be one of the first to see our limited edition collection, made from 1940's fabric remnants. this amazing shop was started by five savvy fellas all fascinated by late 19th / early 20th century americana. we couldn't be more excited to add this amazing shop to our list of stockist.

road trip

we woke up early on saturday to drive to chicopee, ma to visit john barrett's shop: letterpress things. we spent the day exploring his warehouse FULL of letterpress goods and found lots of amazing things to bring back to our studio. talking with john always feels like a crash course in printing - well worth the 9 hours spent driving in one day.
