it hasn't been that long since our blue christmas post about klara & johanna soderberg of first aid kit, but i just had to add this clip too. in addition to loving them, it reminds me how good cover songs can be. (cover of fleet foxes, tiger mountain peasant song).
we have really amazing friends! for example, derek and lauren just sent us this teeny tiny letter. if you don't already know about lea redmond and the worlds smallest postal service, we suggest you go right now and have one sent to your valentine!
thanks to becky and ashley, who had extra tickets... we were able to see ira glass this weekend. the show was focused on the structure he uses to create this american life rather than a live version of the show. it was even better than we could have imagined. his theory of the narrative is just as inspiring as his method of story telling.
have you seen the ira glass kit by frank chimero? click here to make your own. if you do this... please send your pic to frank (pretty please).
this is my favorite ira glass clip about the process of making things. the video quality is poor, but the content makes it worth watching.
finally, after 2 weeks, we're done... 39 planks of pine, 5 sheets of luan, 12 half pints of paint, 2 quarts of stain, 27 sheets of sand paper and 2 boxes of screws. sometimes, it really is cheaper and easier to buy things. you better believe we are taking these with us if we ever move.
i have recently become obsessed with everything that anabela and geoff of fieldguided make. i will soon be the proud owner of three different hand drawn mugs and 2 "top secret" custom gifts (being made for stephen for valentine's day). check out their shop here... it's so good.
the amazing kerri from my goodness told us that our mustaches could be found hiding in the pages of the hello! lucky website. boy was she right... here are a few of the staff mug shots. if you haven't seen their blog yet, hurry up and click here.
p.s. did i mention that we love everything these kids make? letterpress + stationary = what's not to love.
